Mad Dog Energy Products Does It Again

September 19th, 2008

If it wasn’t enough, that Mad Dog Energy Products took over the bulk energy vending market with there energy chew. Now they are taking over the electronic vending arena with there no calorie 2 ounce energy shot.

Mad Dog Energy Products started off as a middleman distributing Buzz Bites for Vroom Foods. There original chew started off the bulk energy vending market with a bang, becoming the fastest growing segment in the vending machine business.

Mad Dog Energy is now there own manufacturer of energy chews and Energy shots. Both products now come in an assortment of flavors. The energy chews come in Pomegranate Blueberry, Tropical Blend, Chocolate, and Chocolate Mint. The Energy Shots have six flavors Blueberry Pomegranate, Grape, Orange, Fruit Punch, Berry, and Cherry.  Having many flavors and many different products creates a ton more liquidity for Mad Dog distributors.

Mad Dog says they are very excited about entering the $700 million dollar energy shot market. After a year of research, Mad Dog found that energy drinkers were looking for an energy drink with no calories and thats exactly what Mad Dog came out with a no calorie, no carbs, no sugar energy shot that tastes great.

“Most of our customers were disappointed in the lack of advertising for our first energy product. Our hands were tied because it wasn’t our name brand. Now owning our own name with the buzz that has been created around Mad Dog Energy Products made it easy to expand our flavors and products.  We can now plan advertising without asking permission. So far in the works is a mixed martial arts event with Mad Dog as the main sponsor. We are sponsoring a national champion bike racer Byron Knix, and even a professional gaming team. On top of all the sponsorship, we have already started a radio advertising campaign. Soon to come will be more magazines, newspaper, and T.V. .

Before advertising we have already sold through 2 truck loads of energy shots and 20,000 pounds of our new energy chew. Everyone has asked for fruity flavors and now being our own brand we are able to give it to them.

There has been some confusion on why we have made our own brand and without getting into details, more advertising, more flavors and more selection with better pricing is the answer.”

For more information on Mad Dog Energy Products and the events they are sponsoring check out there new and improved website coming out on October 4th.

Healthy Vending Machines

September 1st, 2008

Yo Naturals a vending company specializing in healthy snack vending machines has made it possible for schools to aquire these vending machines with no money down.  With obesity on the rise and budgets for schools being cut, this should be a home run for Yo Naturals. The new program lets schools across america use a leasing program with zero money down and pay about $40 per week.

The vending machines vend organic and natural snacks that are much healthier than the old Pepsi and Coke vending machines.  Once the vending machines pay for themselves the school gets to keep 100 percent of the profits to help provide for the school.  All the products vended have been chosen to meet all the state nutrional guidelines, all being tested by the kids to make sure it meets there requirements as well.

Both vending machines, snack and soda have the latest technology.  They each except student cards as well as credit and debit cards. This increases sales and helps to pay off the vending machines as quick as possible.

It shouldn’t be a students responsibility to know what kind of snack is good or bad for them. It is a big move to see schools finally take the steps that are best for the student. Its the first of many steps to take control of childhood obesity and diabetes. Now we just need to work on what is served in the cafeteria. It is still a step in the right direction, one that we hope will spread to every school across the country

DVD Kiosks have been a growing business for the last few years. Now a days you even see one in front of McDonald’s,  a big red box that rents movies. With that convenience it has been putting a pinch on Block Buster Video. It was just a matter of time that the king of movie rentals was going to fight back.

Block Buster Video has teamed up with NCR to create a Block Buster Video kiosk. Its a convenient way to rent movies for the night and Block Buster believes it will add quite a bit to there bottom line.  50 kiosks will be going out in the third quarter of 2008. This is Block Busters pilot program. They expect it to grow to many thousands of machines over the next few years.

Currently there are over 2200 units of DVD kiosks in grocery stores across America. You can bet with Block Buster now in the game, we will be seeing many more to come.

New Chocolate for Snack Vending Machines

August 11th, 2008

Whitney’s Chocolates just made a deal with Vistar formerly known as VSA.  Scott Whitney was once an honor box route man. Now he owns his own chocolate company. Whitney’s Chocolates has already tried there luck at 6 different Vistars and the response was a ton more that expected. The taste was better than most brands that have been out for many years.

The Chocolates come in a good variety of flavors. The company makes milk chocolate, chocolate with almonds, caramel, mint patties, and peanut butter. With a great selection of flavor and the pricing makes a great combination for a vending machine operators to have better profit margins.

Whitney plans to start shipping there product by December 15th.

If you are running a vending route look for  the Whitney Chocolate products in your local Vistar soon.

Seems Like Red Bull is Feeling the Bite of Mad Dog Energy Products

August 6th, 2008

Red Bull Filed A Trademark And Unfair Competition Lawsuit Against Mad Dog Energy Drinks

Red Bull has filed a lawsuit against Mad Dog Energy Products because Mad Dog is showing on a graph that one of there energy products has 25% more caffeine than an 8oz. can of Red Bull. Even though critics and attorneys say that Mad Dog is not breaking any laws Mad Dog has decided to remove any Red Bull Logos from there graphs.

This is great news for Mad Dog Energy Products, a company that was not even on the map a few years ago has now got the attention of every major player in the energy market. Mad Dog Energy has accomplished what many energy companies can not do. Most energy products are sold over the counter, so the only way to get them is in a retail establishment. Mad Dog goes a step further and designs a special vending machine for everyone of there products. There vending machines are distributed by vending machine distributors. Doing this allows the energy market to be brought into the workplace. Not too long ago the only choice for an employee in a break room was a cup of coffee as a pick me up for the day. Now they have an alternative through vending machines that are right next to the coffee pot.

Many attorneys feel Mad Dog should fight the fight, but Mad Dog principles are more concerned with developing new products for there customers. Definitely a smart move on Mad Dogs part. Red Bull will push around anyone they feel is a threat but Mad Dog has already made a name for themselves and feel they will surpass Red Bull sales in the next few years.

Buzz Bites The Original Energy Chew

August 5th, 2008

Buzz Bites are the most popular energy chew in the vending machine market. Whenever you have a product that is taking off Like Buzz Bites, you will always find copycats. After tasting many other products out on the market, I realize there will never be another Buzz Bite. Buzz Bites have a great taste along with all the energy you can ask for.

There is a special vending machine just for Buzz BItes. I found out why the need for the machine. Each Buzz Bite is individually wrapped for a good reason. It keeps the air out and gives the product a very long shelf life. The makers of Buzz Bites want to make sure you always get what you pay for. When you buy an energy product that is not wrapped not only does it have a very short shelf life but the potency starts to diminish the day the product has hit the air. The vending machine was specially made to vend an individually wrapped chew. The vending machine was also built the same size as a coffee pot on purpose. The energy vending machines are being placed in every break room across America right next to the coffee pot.

With all the press that Buzz Bites have been getting, it looks like they are going to be the industry leader for many years to come.

Credit Card Vending

July 31st, 2008

Have you ever scanned a vending machine and your eyes landed on the treat that you wanted. You then reach into your pocket, pull out your wallet and open up the fold only to find no cash. Now your out of options, or are you? Some vending machine companies have started to use a credit card mechanism. Now you will be able to swipe that plastic money to get the treat you desire.

With the use of credit card mechanisms added to your vending machines do you think the revenue will be higher? Most people nowadays don’t like to carry cash with them, so those people will now have the added convenience of purchasing snacks and sodas. Reaching out to more people can only increase the revenue, right? So now you would ask your self would it be worth installing the credit card acceptor on your machine, or even buying new new machines? I would have to go with yes. I know I have been at a vending machine where I’d love to get a cold beverage but was out of cash, think of all the people that have been in those shoes before.

The best place to have these machines with credit card acceptors would be at air ports, where people are moving quickly from location to location and don’t have time to stop in a shop but also don’t have the cash with them, but still need a quick snack or drink.

So with this new technology, I think that this will only help the vending industry.

Vending Machines in China

July 31st, 2008

China’s vending industry is booming. Vending machines are rather new in China, but they are now everywhere. In China, they have vending machines for anything you could ever imagine.

In China, they have got vending machines for your regular everyday use, not just snacks and soda. It is now possible to go grocery shopping in China without even going to a store. For meats and veggies, they have “honor” vending machines, where you have to place your money into a locked box after picking out what you want. This takes a lot of trust from the owners of these machines to trust the people to place their money in the box.

Another unique vending machine in China is rice washing vending machines. Farmers can take their hauls of rice to these machines and wash all of their rice easily.

China put a ban on tobacco vending machines though, the worlds largest market for cigarettes now have a ban on the vending machines that carry them. You can still purchase all of your alcohol needs through vending machines now.

Did you get in a fight with the wife or girlfriend on the way home from a guys night out? No problem, stop at a flower vending machine for some fresh roses to put a smile on her face.

The list goes on of the awesome and convenient machines located and China.

Rising Prices

July 31st, 2008

Today’s economy isn’t as stable as it has been before. With the rise of gasoline prices, everything else rises. So the question is what do you raise your prices to. This is very hard to determine, some companies will make you remove your machine if you raise the prices to high so this makes some people think twice before raising the price.

So the question is how are you going to recoup your rising cost of product AND your $4 average for a gallon of gasoline. So if you are going to raise the price, you are asking yourself how high is too high. I have seen soda ranging from $1.25 to $1.50. The average is around $1.35, much higher and you most likely wouldn’t get a good response unless it is a high traffic area.

The price of snacks have gone up to about $.90. Corn syrup price has raised so this affects the price of regular candy products and sodas.

If you have a larger route, of 100+ machines then it could be worth looking into a very fuel efficient car such as a hybrid or a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla which both receive about 35 MPG.

Medical Marijuana Vending Machines

July 28th, 2008

Marijuana vending machines? Medical Marijuana that is. It seems there is a vending machine for everything these days. One of the newest is marijuana vending machines, located in the city that originated the drive through fast food business. L.A, California.

These machines are 24 hour machines. This new machine offers people the convience and privacy of picking up their medical marijuana. These vending machines are located in a building with tinted glass and a security guard stands at the front door. In order to purchase the marijuana you must use your finger print and a prepaid magnetic swipe card. This allows the machines to dispense marijuana to the patients in need only.

Not only are these machines convenient and easy to access, it is even cheaper. The machines only allow one ounce per week per user. The single vends are in increments of 1/8th and 2/8ths. The price is $20-$40 cheaper than buying it regularly.

The FBI has a problem with these machines though, they would like to know who services the machines and if any illegal practices are being used to service the machines. The Drug Enforcement Agency has been shutting down marijuana dispensaries across California for felony distribution charges.

Robert Miko says “Marijuana is used to medicate, not to get high”.

Now with medical marijuana vending machines, the opportunities are endless with the vending machine industry.
