Stuffed animals are toy animals stuffed with some sort of material, typically straw, beans, or cotton. Stuffed animals or plush toys as they are sometimes called usually serve the purpose of companying and comforting young children. Some stuffed animals are extremely old – some homemade dolls date back to 1830, maybe even older. The most well known type of plush toy is hands down the teddy bear.

Novelty items are typically contraptions that don’t fit into any other category. They can be referred to as gadgets as well, but they are basically impractical things that serve no real purpose.

Both plush toys as well as novelties are usually given as prizes at arcades, carnivals, family entertainment centers, and other similar venues.
