1. Is this a franchise?
- No. You’re simply purchasing machines and placing them in locations.
- There are no franchise fees to pay or parent companies controlling your business.
2. How do I find locations?
- The package price includes our in-house locating team finding locations for you based on zip codes provided by you.
- If you have locations you have found on your own, we discount the price accordingly.
3. Do I need a warehouse and employees?
- To start most people operate out of their home.
- Until you build up your route, you or your family members can normally service the accounts. No need to hire anyone until you expand.
4. Where do I get my business license?
- Normally at the city hall.
5. Do I need to obtain a resale number?
- Sales tax on vending products varies by each state. Check with your local state board for necessary information.
6. Do I need lift gate trucks and special equipment?
- We deliver your machines right to your location, put them in place, and remove all the shipping materials. All you have to do is level the machines, plug the in, price it up and fill it with products. (you will receive a FREE CD VIDEO showing you step-by-step instructions on how to do this)
7. How much should I mark up the products?
- Generally, you should operate with an 80% to 100% mark up over the cost of the item.
- Candy costs vary from approximately 37 cents to 40 cents or more with an average vend price of 65 to 75 cents. That would give you net gross margin of 40/50%.
8. Where do I get the products?
- Nationally VISTARVSA 1-800-880-9900 specializes in vending sized products. In addition, locally you can check your Yellow Pages under candy wholesale, etc. for vending products. Local discount stores also have sales on name brand cold drinks, candy etc. Be sure to use vend sized products! Included in the package is a list of suppliers for your snacks.
